DESCRIPTION:Screenshot\n\n\n\nPluto was recognised as a planet in 1930 but appeared to be alone until 1978. The discovery of a large moon\, Charon\, changed our perspective. With the flyby of the New Horizons probe more moons were discovered\, and along with them new mysteries and new clues about this interesting system of small worlds in the outer solar system.

DESCRIPTION:WolvAS Observing Week 15 (WOW)The Summer 2026 WOW event is being held from Friday the 10th to Sunday the 19th of July\, with the New Moon on Tuesday the 14th of July.The event is for Wolvas Members only\, although we also welcome visitors from other astronomical societies if they notify us prior to the event.Membership is only £10 a year\, so if you would like to attend please join the society using this link: Membership \n\n\n\nThe location is in the rural area of west Shropshire\, which enjoys very dark skies giving a great opportunity for all types of astronomy. We have the use of a private event field\, so do not get disturbed by other campers. Caravans\, Campervans and Tents are all welcome.There are toilet blocks on the event field and showers over on the main campsite. \n\n\n\nIt is not necessary to book for this event however\, please let us know if you are planning on coming so we can keep an eye on the numbers. \n\n\n\nFull details are on the Members Forum.
