DESCRIPTION:Gary Palmer is a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society and Assistant Director of the Equipment and Technical Section of the British Astronomical Association. Gary has been interested in Astronomy since childhood and now works as a professional in the industry giving talks across the globe\, he is widely regarded as one of the best Solar Imagers in the world\, over the years he has amassed an incredible collection of solar images.  \n\n\n\nIn his talk Gary will talk about the Sun itself\, explaining the different features that can be observed such as Sunspots and Solar Flares. You will learn how you can get started in Solar Imaging\, the equipment you need and how to achieve the best results.

DESCRIPTION:If the weather and cloud permits\, we will be observing the Geminids meteor shower at the Society’s observatory site. \n\n\n\nWe aim to arrive around 6:30pm and will stay until around 11pm\, subject to cloud of course. \n\n\n\nPlease ensure you bring a chair and adequate clothing\, especially hats and gloves\, as it gets very cold just sitting outdoors. \n\n\n\nIf you have not had the induction for the observatory site\, please contact Steve at vice.president @ wolvas.org.uk
